Palaio Faliro is located on the Saronic Gulf coast. It has a large marina (with more than a thousand berths yachts) and several beaches. Because of its ideal location by the beach, it is a favorite destination for many Athenians vacationers throughout the summer.

The nearest subway station are Alimos and Agios Dimitrios metro stations, in the eastern part of the municipality. The western coastal part of the municipality is connected with Athens city centre by the Athens Tram. It is connected with the centre via 3 avenues (Poseidonos, Alimou  & Kalamakiou).
